Even if the Camaro comes back. Isn't the f-body dead?

If it is based on the sigma, zeta, zeta lite or other platform, is it not an f-body?

Still is going to be an F-body. Zeta is just a set of components.

From what I understand, basically "F" is just GM's product line designation. It does not reference the chassis being used.

going back to the 60s and through the early 90s, GM did use letters to designate chasis... which pretty much is the same thing as the product line when you think about it. It's one of Yachnin's favorite trivia questions since he knows most of them and can rattle them off the top of his head. Ycar was Corvette, W was grandprix, monte, cutlass....

They ran out of letters, so they changed the way they named them.

Now they swtiched back to letters.... Kappa, Sigma, Zeta, etc.... they're just using the Greek alphabet instead of English.

Concidentally....

F is the 6th letter of the English alphabet.
Zeta is the 6th letter of the Greek alphabet.

So just say it in English! F chassis!

It wont be built on the "F" platform, but it's been initmated they could use "F" in the VIN to designate the model.... for heritage's sake.

The Camaro had a sister the firebird. It was very much the same car.

According to this source
it is based on the Zeta platform that it shares with the Commodore and GTO.
Therefore The GTO and the Commodore are its siblings. Right?
