does GM need to hire a security consultant?

Z-06 pics leaked, new Tahoe pics leaked and now the proto camaro.Seems like GM has a security problem dosen't it???Im leaning towards intentionally leaked because I can't see how this stuff could get away from GM so easily.Plus after a few days of fussing and turmoil and the pics are again allowed to come back up.Not that these leaks are a bad thing...........it gets the excitement up and that can't be bad.The camaro looks like it could be a real winner with a few minor touch ups.

Re: does GM need to hire a security consultant?

I'm sure GM has a secuity consultant or sometype of secuity group. The thing is that there are more people involved than just GM people. I'm sure these photos have been seen by suppliers and been in their hands for a while. But I would agree that GM has a whole is the champion when it comes to leaked photos. It's not only GM north america but europe where the facelifted 9-5 was leaked and so were a few opel products.
It's also possible that photos were leaked on purpose, in order for good press.

Um... every car manufacturer gets leaked. ****, computer software/games get leaked. Music albums get leaked.

Unless you have a secured building, and keep all of your current projects in-house, never even seeing the sunlight, and making all employees go through security checks before leaving/entering... you're not going to stop a leak.

I agree with this, I think very rarely does a "leak" happen that they don't want to happen.

there are companies that do this so it is entirly possible.

this is quite a bit of free publicity ... hell, when the pictures were being deleted from here and threads locked/deleted all i had to do was go to an import board to find it -- an import board! when was the last time they even cared about a new offering from GM other than the vette?

it may or may not have been an intentional leak, however i do believe the good probably outweighs the bad. just look at all of the people who will be looking for the 5th gen at the next autoshow, rather than a week ago when many of them probably didn't even know or care enough to check it out.
