dealer Question

so, ive been talking to the guy at a dealer here for some time on and off about the camaro. i asked how much for a deposit. he told me, the dealer is asking for a $1000. He also said there was no change in price so they are still selling at MSRP. i read on another forum that one shouldnt bother with dealers who ask for deposits, but i thought all dealers asked for some kind of a deposit. Im in the process of saving my money for a good down payment so the payments wont be ridiculous high, he told me that they were getting there orders quicker, down to 6-8 weeks instead of 3 months that he previously told me. so should i wait and search for some other dealers or does it sound like i got a winner here.

Down payment is no big deal.

I put down a deposit when I ordered mine. I didn't consider it to be any big deal. It was just part of my down payment. Getting it at MSRP is the most important part. As long as the down payment isn't excessive. As for the quoted time to delivery, I hope it's a honest time frame. When I ordered mine, the dealer said they still had an allotment. After waiting 9 months I am not sure that was a true statement. It was definatly worth the wait. It is a fantastic car.
