Your comparison = fail. 620-1000hp cars I would hope could run 11's Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of dollars that are put into those cars to make sure they dont break and can perform well on the street.

Do you really really really trully believe that a 26,000.00 Camaro is gonna be in the same bracket as those cars? Youve got to be joking.

Well, how about the Shelby GT500? It weighs 3920 lbs and its been stated that the top model Camaro is being designed to compete with it. Seeing how the GT500 makes 500 hp and the GT500 KR makes 540 hp, its probably a good bet to say the top model Camaro will have a minimum of 550 hp. The Camaro will also have a far superior suspension system than that of the Shelby. It might wind up being a heavy car, but I bet it will blow away any stock 4th gen car on any track. Even the LS3 Camaro will probably be far superior to the 4th gen in the performance aspect.

Honestly, that car's performance doesn't overwhelm me considering some of the hardware, so aiming any Camaro straight at that mark would inspire a similar reaction in me.

Ferraris and Lamborghinis are fragile. Hand built and they fall apart.

Car and Driver did a test on some lightly used Italian exotics years ago. I think they were the F40 and Diablo back then. Both cars had NUMEROUS quality issues.

Gear shift **** fell off.
Interior trim fell off after glue got too hot from car being in the sun all day.
Brake pedal wobbly.
Window won't go all the way up.

etc.

Also a friend of mine, admin for www.beyond.ca (nickname Rage2), bought a Ferrari Modena a few years back. Biggest POS ever. He couldn't afford the numerous repairs it needed from one year of driving less than 10,000 miles. Sold it and lost something like $18,000 in repairs.

I don't know about you, but after 25k miles, that's a lot of work on a Ferarri... The steering box, power steering rack, and rear shocks were replaced, and the wheels were aligned , the power steering pump was replaced, battery replaced, new suspension bushings installed, and a wheel alignment, dash lights, rattles, and a radiator R & R for coolant leaks, ball joints and sway bar bushings, noisy cam belts and bearings were replaced... It goes on and on...

My 1997 Camaro V6 coupe has had the following done to it that I have had to pay out of pocket for... Oil changes, rad flushes, air filter changes as per usual, new tires, battery replaced, marker/brake lights replaced, headlights replaced due to rock chips on the sealed beam bulbs (50 bucks a pop), Alternator replaced, serpentine belt replaced, tune-up, new muffler, and replacing warped front rotors... And it has 89k kms on it. No way in hell have I spent nearly as much on my Camaro as that Ferarri owner in the same amount of time, with more than double the mileage.
