Concept to Production w/ Mustang Compare

I am just curious how watered down the Camaro Concept will get when it goes from that gorgeous concept to the real production car. I decided to do a comparison of the Mustang Concept to the production car. In my opinion the concept was pretty sharp. However I do not find the production Mustang GT, let alone the base V6 model to be a nice looking car. I find it to be boxy and not sporty at all, just too bland. Maybe Scott can chime in? If a Camaro is produced, how close can it stay to the Concept?

Sorry the photos aren't the best, there ones I took from the 2003 Cleveland Auto Show

In a way I am glad the production 'Stang is not like the concept. I thought the concept looked really nice, much easier to dislike the production car, therefore creating no desire to have bought one.

think about it like this:

Lutz really like the Camaro concept.

Lutz also really liked the SSR and Solstice. how much did they change?

Yeah, inspect the Solstice concept/production models more closely to see the Camaro's changes. Not the 'Stang because it's a totally different company.

Wow! the only major changes I see are the addition of side marker lights, a slight headlight modification and they got rid of the center mount exhaust.

I think I'm the only one that sees a significant difference between the Solstice concept and production car. When I see the concept I still melt.

The concept is so much more agressive and well proportioned to my eye.

that's cause you're picky

i think even you can agree with the point i was trying to make Charlie. not all cars go through design altering changes from concept to production. the Solstice and SSR were just the first 2 examples i thought of.

Seeing the SSR concept last Sunday reminded me of how much more agressive it looked compared to the street version. The concept has a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs than the production version. Happily, I expect the exact opposite from the production Camaro.

Re: Concept to Production w/ Mustang Compare

Did you have to use a Legend lime Stang for a comparison to the concept. Most Stang owners don't even like that color.

aside from the interior (which i think mostly all of us agree needs a serious re-do), how much do you personally think it's gonna change from now to production Charlie?

width, height, length, and so on.

Well for one thing its 2 inches wider and as to change from what we saw Scott said there would be changes to the interior but most of the rest would stay as you see it
