And the ugly, rusting through, tin can image of Japanese cars from your youth didn't stop you from buying Japanese for 30 years?
Like has been stated, GTR $80K+. Great performer, but looks like it was designed by Power Rangers.
The Camaro, $35kish, awesome looks, well balanced machine. With the $50k you'll save, I think you could mod it to GTR levels with room to spare.

I had no opinions about Japanese cars from my youth because I wasn't even aware they made cars. I was forced out of this ignorance by the crap American car manufacturers were pushing out the door in the late 70's.
As for you second point: I agree. That's why I came to this forum.

I can't wait till lots of folks get the chance to drive these cars to see their impressions as well.

Apparently there was a March 20th media embargo, which of course we didn't know about. Once we found out, we complied.

For those wondering what was re-released, the video and paragraphs 5 and 6 of the article. It sucked to remove them because that is where the guts of the article were. No big deal, it is there now!

How does the ride compare to your CTS? (for those that don't know, Chris has an AWD DI3.6 CTS with the FE2 suspension).

What were you thoughts on the 6? Does it feel faster than 6.1 0-60? I am very interested in details on this car.

Thanks!

Very similiar! There is more of an exhaust note on the Camaro then on the Caddy, but still extremely quiet at cruising.

There seemed to be a little more power on tap in the Camaro, probably partially because I was driving the 6 speed manual in the Camaro. There is one thing I did NOT like about the V6 Camaro and that was the placement of reverse on the tranny. On the 6 speed version of the V6 car, reverse is all the way to the left and up - right next to first gear. So guess what gear I was in the first time I tried to backup? heh. This will take some getting used to for sure. The V8 car had reverse where we are used to it, all the way to the right and up (next to fifth gear).

Yep, that's where Aisin puts it. My experience with other cars with reverse in various places is that you get used to it quickly. As long as there's a lockout that prevents you from putting it in reverse when you're rolling, the worst that will happen is you waste a couple seconds.
