Sure, aluminum costs more, but I'll bet it'd be worth it and still capable of generating a healthy profit.
Yep. I see aluminum components on much lesser cars everyday.
It would probably be more expensive, but not by as much as it would have been years ago.

Alot of people on this board have forgotten what the 4th gen weighed on its way out. I remember fully loaded WS6's going 3600+

For the 45th anniversary camaro, a 2012 Z28 in the hugger orange color would be a great way to celebrate that.

Move the the back up lights on the rear bumper - this is the one thing I hate about the car. They totally destroy the look of the back-end; move them to each side of the license plate.

Mine weighed 3540 at the track with me in it. I weighed ~140 at the time, so 3400. Jack and spare still in the car, 1/4 tank of gas. Leather, power everything, missing only the SS package, ground effects, and CD changer from the factory options list, and with only a lid and catback to differentiate it from stock. I'd guess that the Corsa catback is heavier than the factory one -- probably by more than the weight saved by removing all of the intake resonators.

I guess we could add 65 pounds to top off the gas tank if you really want to be picky.

Curb weight is typically with a full gas tank, so that would be 3465. The rest of the difference would probably be M6 versus A4.

I remember High Performance Pontiac tested an '02 T/A WS6 Collector Edition in '01 or '02.
With the driver and fuel (forgot how much), the car tipped the scale at something like 3,715 lbs.
Guy ran 13.teens with the car.

I would really enjoy white leather as an option.

I believe that a T56 actually weighs more than a 4L60E.

Apropos this thread, make that a future option

Offer:

25 pound wheels, spin forging should make it possible and one inch down in size if necessary... flangeless design should keep the look appropriate.

Performance ratio steering box and reprogram the on center feel.

Dual mode exhaust option for manual SS.

Rearview camera and wider mirror with integral screen for fulltime mirror and rear camera display.

Add a stepped shift light as a HUD function. Spend the extra to have it accurate. Blink the tach function if that's the easiest way to make that functionality obvious.

Offer Ultralux and cloth option as an interior option under leather or rather than leather. Alcantara would be even better if it's an either or option.

Tighten the launch control programming. It's good but could be great.

Push Pirelli for an even better compound that will handle more accurately and deliver miles of wear. < If they really want to own that part of the business, they should truly deliver a world shaker tire.>

According to Tremec (TTC), the 450 lb/ft T56 weighs 129 lbs. That would include the bellhousing, but not include the clutch. I have no idea what a 4L60E weighs???

In the spirit of the thread......lighter, please. Do whatever you can, GM. Please. Though I may not be fond of a few minor things, weight is my only deal breaker (for me).

I believe 129 pounds is the dry weight -- add ~6 for a few quarts of fluid.

I'm in the same boat with you on the 4L60E... no clue.
