Re: Autoblog Poll - camaro vs challenger
Voting is IP-based. You'll also have to release/renew your IP address.
I'm surprised that it's that close. From what I read, the Camaro stole the show from Charger at NAIAS and I expected it to be way higher than 49%.

Re: Autoblog Poll - camaro vs challenger
Since it's a server side script, there's really no way for us to easily determine how to cheat the system. I don't believe it's IP based. All of our web traffic at work goes through a pair of proxy servers and out through one IP address. I've tried voting on multiple boxes and it does work. Alternately, I've voted with 3 browsers on the same machine (without forcing an IP change) and it appears to have worked each time. When trying again with the same browser, it states that I've already voted. They are using either a cookie or a different placeholder within your temporary internet files to check for voting validation.
I'm sure that it could be done... although I hold my values higher than the challenger guys, who are obviously having to cheat to compete with the camaro

They have it pretty well blocked against scripted auto-voters. It's doable, but it's not easy.
If you disable cookies, it will probably tell you that cookies are required in order to participate in the poll, but that's worth a shot.
Not that I advocate cheating...

Re: Autoblog Poll - camaro vs challenger
when I was at Autoblog you could never post twice or autopost to the polls.
I think the challenger just has more online forums devoted to it then the camaro and had 3 weeks of lead up hype.

Extracting your logic a little further... what purpose is served by conversing about a finished production vehicle based on our limited knowledge of a concept car?
