Is there any way to change the radio and keep all the functions?

I've been thinking about getting a new Camaro, but there are a few things I'm not to keen on. The radio controlling things other than the radio is one of them. If I do get one, I'm gonna need to change it out for an aftermarket one, but then I won't be able to control the other things. Does anyone offer an install kit that controls all that? I know Crutchfield has an installation plate but I don't know if it keeps all those functions.

Thanks for any help.
Troy

You need this kit...
http://www.amazon.com/Metra-99-3010S.../dp/B003GXLKA2

I guess it is a straightforward approach. From what I am told, using that is pretty much plug and play, but you really need someone to help as it take 4 hands to install some parts.

I have thought about doing it myself, but I am overall very happy with the factory system for my needs.

Thanks Jason,

I probably should have mentioned its not the radio itself that I have a problem with but the hideous heater controls. However, after finally test driving one, I found it doesnt fit me very well, so I don't think I'll be getting one. It's a shame because I've wanted one since the day the concept was unveiled.

Doesn't fit you physically or fit your needs?

Little of both, really. The interior just doesn't work for me on both levels. Physically, whe I have the wheel where I like it, I can't see the speedo from about the 40 to 120 range, or the tach from about 3 to 7K. I also tend to rest my arm on the window sill, and it sits way too high for me to do that and be even remotely comfortable. Nevermind that fact that my arm blocks the window. And of course the aforementioned hideousness of the heater controls.

I also don't like the IRS, because it costs so much to upgrade, but I knew about that before the drive.

I haven't completely ruled out getting one, and I'm still looking at them. But I'm leaning toward something else.
