NO CONVERTIBLE! until 2012...

this is a rant. not all points will be based on fact, some may be based on heresay, and some even will be based on lies.

the convertible has a planed launch date of, or was that just an order date?, of next years in january. that makes it a 2011my car right?

pending that, i see base prices at 30k. i mean to be shrewd and all but, $30,000+ for a V6 in a 3500#(+) CAR?

you know i actually play the convertible game here in the sunshine state., it typically averages out to 20:5 on a good day. (20 tops up : 5 tops down)

im not sayin people wont enjoy it, but, the v6 car has the v8s chassis and all the other "necessary" equipment to house a 400 horse/torque motor, and then the interior. think of the cost to GM in this. by releasing it prior to my2012 itll cost them the money to get it crash tested certified. and then crash test certified in later 2011. whats the point of releasing a product you know people have been waiting 7 years to buy 1 half model year early, and waste a cool hunnerd thou doing it?

^and th einterior redesign will make 2011 convert peices really hard to come by as 2012+ peices will be everywhere!, now tell me your local gm dealer wants to keep 2 stacks of useless interior panels for the same car lying around. within an 8 month span!

you know they're all going to go for the v8, which my guess plants its starting price at 3 grand above all other v8 options. i mean, how many peopel do you know who buys a sporty large coupe with a v6 and a convertible top? and USES it!!!!(20:5!! in near 80+ weather every day!!)

just make em wait until the beginning of model year 2012, when you get to jack the prices up as well by $100, and let the anticpiation go on them, cause by then they wont drive it in the fall/winter, hell some of them are too chiken to drive their coupes in michigan winters, Deblargh!esclamationpoint!1

this would allow you to get all the necessary recalls that occur within the first three months, without having to pay anyones funeral costs.

so, what i propose is, we push back convertible sales for the 2012 my with the interior update(really just to hide it from peopel who might actually look inside the car), save urself lotso money form having to do crash tests certs and whatnot, just go to any 5th gen forum section, peopel are frothing at the mouth for a V6 convert for $30G+ with an out of date within 6 months interior styling, and a 3900 pound curb weight.

hell, it'd be like the 4th gen convertible sof 94 all over again! (bring back the hump!)
