Testing the Next Generation Coil Over

For several months, we have been testing the next generation Pedders coil overs. We have made multiple changes and now the Camaro set is ready for production, and they are absolute perfection after we have made all the fine tuning adjustments!

They have oversized remote reservoirs with dual adjustability. This makes it a great setup for both autocross and road racing guys and drag strip guys and guys who do both. Also when set up properly, they will offer a more comfortable, controlling ride for street play. We have also increased the monotube size from 46mm to a 52mm setup. We still had no issues running our massive 305s on all 4 wheels. The increase of fluid in the monotube will increase ride comfort and is also perfect for race setups.. Also one thing that is critical besides the range of adjustment is the actual sizes of the reserviors. They are huge for this size of vehicle.

Here is Pete chatting about them

Here are some pictures for you to review

We will be offering this serious upgrade to G8, GTO, Camaro, LX, Mustang, and a hole bunch of foreign car hot rods. No pricing is available yet.

Thanks

Being able to make changes to jounce and rebound separately will give you great advantage in the drag race communities for sure. You may be able to get the levels changes to to the extremes to get a 70/30 and a 30/70 levels. Also having the remote reservior, you will not be able to overheat the shocks in a lengthy road race environment. Plus those that are very serious into the handling mode, will have the ability to make micro adjustments specific to any kind of handling. There are other remote reservoir units out there or in development. But the remotes in relationship to the volume of the damper itself, are too small, thus more for show and not functionality. Look at the size of the Pedders reserviors then look at the size of say a Penske Racing shock and you will see what I mean.

Now the advantages of our normal Xa coil overs are simplicity!. Unlike a lot of other coil over assemblies, you have full adjustability in all velocity modes of our Pedders coil overs. Other just give you low and mid speed adjustability, while the high or max damping levels are factory preset.
Just watch the Pedders Camaro and what it can do in the Optima Challenge videos. The Xas were set at 20 and 20 and it was the fastest 2010 Camaro by a significant amount. The handling is especially noticeable when you consider the ZR1 following it could not run the same lines as the Pedders Camaro.
