PEDDERS SNUBBERS REINFORCE THE OE RADIUS RODS

Not everyone needs the full benefit of what our Pedders critical bushings have to offer. But all can benefit significantly, especially the DIYers, from some very simple, yet very effective upgrades.

The front OE radius rod bushings are fluid filled and work just fine for normal driving. But for the highly spirited driver, you may want to add a lot of control and support to them. The best way is to add our Pedders complete bushing. But some may not want to replace the OE bushings and would appreciate an alternative that will help support and strengthen these very important bushings. PEDDERS TO THE RESCUE!. The Aussies call them SNUBBERS. In the states we can call them bumpers or inserts.

What is the importance of the radius rod bushings? Literally, all the braking energy of the front goes thru these bushings and also they support and control the fore/aft movement of the front wheels and tires. When you consider a 60mph aggressive stop, and all the weight of the front, and the serious dynamic mass of the 50-60lb wheel and tire, these bushings are seriously important to control this movement. So adding strength to the radius rod bushing, to help with the control of the braking, and keeping the geometry of the front end tighter, is important and very benificial.

We can increase the strength of the front radius rod bushings by replacing the OE Snubbers, or inserts with our Pedders Poly units P/N EP6578

HERE IS A PICTURE OF THE OE AND THE PEDDERS REPLACEMENT

Upgrading the Radius rod inserts is one of the simplest suspension upgrades you can do. Requires only hand tools. You do not even have to take the wheels off.

Here is the quick version to updating the Snubbers:
1. Put the front end on Jack stands
2. Remove the front radius rod nuts and bolts
3. Push the wheel and tire rearward and the radius rod will come out of them mount.

4. With a flat blade screw driver, pry off the 2 inserts or snubbers per bushing

5. The inserts are timed. you can see there is an alignment tab. Push in firmly the Pedders EP6578 inserts until they are totally seated. DO NOT USE ANY LUBRICANT

6. Here is a shot of both the inserts installed

7. Reinstall the bushing assembly back into the reciever. Then add the bolt, and torque the nut

8. Here is a picture of the assembly reinstalled

Very soon, I will have a very detailed DIYer manual to install them.

If you have any questions, just ask.

thanks
