Aftermarket wheel offset/tire size on a 2012
Hi,
I have found the perfect wheels for my 2012 2SS but they come in limited sizes. As much as I hate spacers, I am under the impression it may be possible to get the offset right with only two thin spacers to make the wheels work. The wheels I want are only available as...
20X8.5 +38 and 20X8.5 +18
I have read that the stock sizes are...
20X8.0 +35 on the front
20X9.0 +40 on the rear
To make the aftermarket wheels work what tire sizes would I need and would I need any spacers? I don't mind going with non stock tires if necessary but I don't want the car to look stupid or to have to worry about flagging a TPMS message. Of course filling the wheel wells is always important.
I am far from any expert on tire sizes but am willing to learn. Are there any tire/wheel size experts here?

I myself shy away from wheel spacers as much as possible. I just don't want to roll the dice with something going wrong.
What are the wheels you are looking at? Maybe we can help you find some that are similar that fit correctly?

Re: Aftermarket wheel offset/tire size on a 2012
I visited a wheel shop yesterday and was told that the standard offsets these are available in "should" fit without using adapters.
With all of this said, I am open to suggestions of something similar that will have a clean look. I hope the picture link below works....

Boy...I dunno...that one is a unique style. I don't know where to find one like it.
Wheels are tricky...they say they "should" fit...but what if they don't? Are you stuck with them?

Jason, Actually, the tire dealer that I visited to talk with about it told me that he would make sure that they would fit by calling the manufacturer before ordering. He also told me that the only thing he may need to do is go with a slightly size tire. However, I found a used set and bought them anyway. It was a deal that I couldn't refuse. I'm just waiting for them in the mail. Right now I have the car apart to install a body kit and grille. After I get it all back together and then change over the wheels I"ll let you know how it goes. If I like the look I"ll even take a picture and post it. Thank you again.

I've had 4mm spacers on my truck for years. After last 45,000 miles with no problems I think it's safe to say that as long as you tighten everything down like normal you should be fine even if you need to use them.
