dollar for dollar,ill stick with the vette. even if it is a base model over a fully loaded gt500.

According to the info I got from HotPart, my Magnacharger should be here on Thursday of this week! I will post updates to my project blog (see PhantomSS link in sig)!

Cannot wait to get this project rolling!

Recommended Usage:
Street Use - Towing - Road Racing - Drag Racing


Positive Points:
1) Great Power at Low RPMs (Great for Towing)
3) Factory Fit & Appearance
4) Great Reliability

Negative Points:
1) The Power Doesn't Keep Climbing in the High RPMs (Power curve is very flat)
2) Challenging To Achieve High Boost Levels or CFMs
3) Lengthy installation times

So i guess the twin screw produces good power down low but not like the Centrifugal superchargers that make better power up top than down low like the roots and screw types..

Something to considering when choosing your system.

I have personally owned both styles on several different cars and I will take the positive displacement (roots, screw, or the hybrid Magnacharger) any day over the centrifugal.

centrifugal , you mean like pro charger or vortech?

Yes, those are centrifugal. Centrifugal are the ones that look kinda like a turbocharger and mount like an accessory; roots-type take the place of the intake manifold, sitting right on top of the heads.

Yeah I can't speak from personal experience since i've never owned one. I've always went down the heads/cam n/a path. But most systems on the F-bodys and Vettes that I've seen have been centrifugal. The screw types looks like a cleaner set up. But I really can't say what will produce the better power band. But I do know that a 500 HP in "Camaro A" is not the same as 500 HP in "Camaro B" because its the average horsepower that really matters not the peak.
Looking at the Dyno of the screw type that was posted it looks like that type of supercharger would be better for vehicles with lower power bands.

But we really need to see 1/4mile times from a screw and a centrifugal camaro... and of course keep the same transmission types, boost settings/mods etc.

Having a supercharger in a new Camaro would be bad *** and at that point i don't think it really matters what type

from what i have heard the roots blowers, like the magna charger, are great for low end torque and hp, but not alot at the top of the rpm's. it actually showed lack of boost at high rpms. very maintanance free though. i am pretty impressed by the hp numbers that some of these tuners have been able to get out of them though.
