ZL 1 wheel spin in 2nd gear

I installed a Wild to Mild remote device this week on my ZL 1. It is only slightly louder when exhaust are open. On a 20 mile level straight away. I reset the mpg computer after a mile with it on, then a mile with it off. At 60 mph it improved mpg from 22.2 to 23.1. Also I have noticed that at around 25 mph in second gear, if I even get close to WOT, I can see the black marks in the rear view mirror. Do you experience the same? I am wondering if my traction control is operating correctly.

Re: ZL 1 wheel spin in 2nd gear

A friend of mine at work has one and he was complaining about hesitation when he hit the passing gear on the highway. He went to the dealer, and they told him the hesitation was the traction control stopping the car from going sideways at 70. So yea, rubber at 25 sounds about right.

Considering that the car doesn't get sideways, yes, your traction control is working fine. Just enough wheel spin to keep things interesting yet under control.

Be a damn shame if it didn't spin in second gear, my 6.2 heavy azz silverado spins in second.

Trucks don't have any weight in the rear.

Ya I guess your right, but how many stock automatic trucks do you know of that can break the tires loose on a roll in second gear? Regardless, this guy has a 580 horse Camaro and wondering if it's "normal" to be spinning in 2nd.

Agreed. That 6.2 has some good torque.

Is this guy serious? With 580 HP it better spin in every stinking gear! I think this is more bragging than question.
