Why no Camaro in Nascar?

I would rather not see a Camaro sticker slapped on an ugly COT NASCAR vehicle. The Camaro speaks for itself. Buckyinva, I can't believe you make purchasing decisions based on what's painted on a NASCAR hood. Well I believe it... but I can't imagine why you'd decide to buy a certain vehicle or drink because of what's painted on a tube frame car.

because these companies pay a LOT of money to have stickers in those cars...
I bet you that if there is a MALE TAMPON with a huge sticker in those frame cars NASCAR lovers will buy it and stick it up their... uh... yeah.
I am with guionM Australian Supercar kicks ***. If we had something like that here I would follow it for sure and Camaro's should be racing there.

It's really difficult to have the camaro, challenger, and mustang even be in today's nascar because there body style is extremely hard to make into a stock car body as its front end has a massive air inlet. It would just look bad....
On the other hand, I'm not a super racing fan, but I do watch NASCAR every now and then. I think it has some intresting racing in it. Every year I catch basically restrictor plate races (ex. Talladega and Daytona) yea most of the cars are the same, but bunch 43 of the same cars on a 200mph race track, your gonna get some entertainment

I used to be a NASCAR fan, and do still support the series in my odd little way (creating mods for racing games). The COT didn't turn me into a "used to be" fan, but it definitely didn't do anything to bring me back. To put Camaro decals on the Nationwide COT would be a way to associate the Camaro with a car that looks like it was designed by the team that did the AMC Pacer. I think the image I've seen of the Mustang COT looks like a complete abomination of the Mustang and I'm certain the Challenger will be the same. For me personally, I would want as little visibility as possible of a car that by it's very nature, destroys everything that looks good about the Camaro.
It might be a marketing mistake to not include the Camaro, but I really doubt it. It might also be a mistake to include the Camaro and pick up what ever reputation it gets from the Nationwide series (like getting beat by a Camry that's not a Camry half the time).

Well I have to agree with some of you and some of you I have to disagree. Yes, the COT is ugly and Ford, Toyota, Chrysler, & GM are only pay top dollars to place the stickers on the cars. The disagreement part is that COT came about was for safety (death of Dale Earnhardt was the big one) and equal planning field with everyone (GM was winning allot of races).
If you follow the history of NASCAR (most of you do not), the sport start with a "Stock Car", the same cars that anyone would by at the dealer. So yes, it is no longer a "Stock Car" and more of an "IROC" type car. Let not forget that the third gen. was part of the "IROC" series and see how many IROC's where built in the '80's'.
If camaro does enter the sport it will because sales are down-but we know that will not be happening anytime with-in the next year or two. Once sales start going down and Ford's sale's go up, do not be surprised to see a camaro entering the Nationwide series.

This is also ONLY for the Nationwide Series formerly Busch series. Only Nascar diehards watch it anyways. This is to try to differentiate it from the Sprint cup in hopes to bring in new fans. They are going about it the wrong way....
