Where's the Goat????

Where's the Goat????
Ok, I have been trying to work and so trying to post less so this is why I haven't said anything, BUT.....
Since you guys didn't pick up the slack....
It has been stated that the Camaro is based off the platform that will underpin the new GTO.
SO where is the new GTO?
Is that the other new car to be unveiled this year?
Or will it be a (Very) sporty RWD 4 door off the same platform? With V6s, optional V8s, mid level pricing...... If it looks along the lines of the Solstice/Camaro/C6, I'll be having AT LEAST two chevys in my ford blue garage. Sorry but the Fusion is just a little too blah for me.
Also, I think I read somewhere that the Zeta was killed, but since Holden was going to be re-designing it's RWD platform, that project was to be expanded to fill the void left by Zeta. Holden is doing ok. They will be designing a platform to replace the one under the GTO, so........ If this is fact, then the business case for the Camaro looks a whole lot less risky.
Anyone else hear, read this ? if so links?
Or am I having another one of my "episodes"?

Re: Where's the Goat????
Zeta is not dead. Zeta is the base for the CTS Caddy and a derivative will be used for the Camaro which will be the Zeta-Lite platform. Expect to see more than just the Camaro on that setup, which will more than likely be for the GTO as well.
I can guarentee it won't be anywhere near the size/sportiness of the solstice as the soltice is the Pontiac roadster car. Don't need another.

There's been speculation that the Camaro concept is actually riding on a modified Kappa chassis at this time.
It has also been suggested that GTO and Camaro, while similar, will not be "sister-cars". However its also been suggested that Buick might get a GTO-sister.

Re: Where's the Goat????
Oh and there was no new style GTO at the show. There were several GTOs, but they were all the same body style as the '05s now. The medium red one, if anyone can post a pic was gorgeous. It had a different appearance package that looked killer IMO...

Right.... that is what I thought I heard. I know the new Camaro will be on Zeta-Lite, and I heard that CTS would be on Zeta... I could be completely wrong on that, but...

Right...... What I am getting at is this; Is the Newly Designed GTO the other car rumored to be intro-ed. I know there was no def word...... basically there's no reason to ask since someone who knows can't say, and those who do say something, don't know.

I think you are right. Even if the GTO was scheduled to launch here, they may have moved it out to spread the love.
Then again if it is styled as well as the Camaro, I may have to get a 3 car garage.
Maybe they don't want to overwhelm us.
If Lutz's work is going to be poured on us for a while, it's ok by me.
While the GTO is not my favorite muscle car, it's interior is a lesson to be studied by all of GM. The solstice is a bad *** mother....... for a Pontiac, the Camaro has had better response than the New Mustang did, and they doubled production estimates in their first year.

Re: Where's the Goat????
My only Solstice problem is that I do not physically fit in it. My knees hit the dash. If not I would have one...
I'm just glad Lutz finally came through. Heard he actually killed it 4 times before it got approved and what you see actually got done in only 8 months...
