Im not trying to start a war, but Im hoping that when the SS comes out they dont have the same style "SS" badges as all the new gm vehicles(cobalt SS impala SS ect.) does anyone else think that they should use a different style? i dont know if its just me or what, but i think that the camaro deserves its OWN style "SS" badges i find the ones from the cobalt and other newer cars kind of tacky IMO...

Don't worry, you'll barely be able to see them anyway since there will only be a tiny emblem in the grill and on the trunk. They'd rather plaster huge truck bowties on it and also no Camaro emblem in favor of the model emblems.

HAHA....that is the first thing that is coming off the car. Those giant chevy badges and the micro ss emblems. Replacing them with 1969 style badges unless they have a cooler aftermarket set. The small SS badges that are in the grill look as though they belong for the side of the camaro, like the old ones had. That will def be my first appearance mod.

I agree 100% The future SS will need proper badging, I don't see it coming though. The stuff I have seen until now is terrible. If that is going to be the "top of the line" car it needs some real recognition.

Why don't they get it? This is a Camaro and not a Silverado, loose the stupid huge gold bowtie and make the thing unique. Scott are you listening?

I think that the type of person that is going to buy the SS model is someone who is proud of the cars history. I love my 69 BB 396 SS. The badging on that car is perfect, not to mention the blacked-out tailpan.

My 67 RS is not a SS but the headlights told you what it was from the front and the back. Unfortunately it looks like all the new 2010 Camaro's will be the same unless you look close.

GM should have the 2010 SS displayed as a bad *** ride and not some grocery getter v6. uhhhhh....

The Gold BowTies do indeed look like the same ones on a Silverado. Pictures I have seen with out the BowTie look much better to me. Maybe they won't be hard to remove?

I would hate to have huge SS badges on the side of the car. The chrome CAMARO badge on the fender looks amazing. I don't give a damn if people know that I have an SS, they can find out the hard way. I am a big fan of subtle badging.

The 67 RS also came standard with a straight six or a 210hp 2-bbl 327cid V8. You honestly can't compare the two because the RS originally was the 1960's version of today's "rice". (What performance did an RS package add anyway?) Flash forward to 2010, and there is a distinct difference on the headlights and taillights if you order the RS package, even on the SS. (In case someone missed it, the RS-SS will have red SS badges while the standard SS will have silver badges.)

The SS on the other hand, only had a different hood and badges over the base Camaro in 1967-9. It was only if you ordered the big block you got the blacked out tail panel. At least with the 2010 Camaro SS, you get a different nose and bigger wheels.

P.S. I'm not knocking the 1st gen RSes btw. I own a 67 RS myself and my first Camaro was a 68 RS... both the lowly 210hp-327cid 2bbl versions.

The '67 RS RPO order was an appearance group and not performance, kind of like you said. I guess is what I was trying to say on this thread earlier is I think they can make the badging better by not making it so subtle.

Just like someone here has also said, it can't be too big or gawdy. It is a fine line and based on one's preference what the right size should be (along with location).

We still don't know the pricing but I am going to guess that the SS model will be more than the standard RS coupe. It would be nice if you could tell them apart clearly on the street and not have to be at a stoplight to see what model the guy is driving. Maybe once I see both cars in person it will be clearer to me.

Case in point, I couldn't tell you all the differences of the GT500KR from their six banger on the street, but maybe that is because I don't really care for Ford's products.

The bow tie in the grill looks fine to me. I'm sure there will be tons of aftermarket options for this car. Maybe even some different grills from GM.
