That's a great illustration.
I occasionally get asked to speak at funerals. I've lifted that for my resource file.
Thanks

Hi D.A!

Lulu Meadows was a good friend of our family. She was a Presbyterian Minister -- and travelled extensively in the 20s and 30s ......she passed peacefully in 1998. She sent each of us that poem when my father died......and I found it so inspirational.

It still "makes my eyes leak" when I read it -- but it also gives me great comfort -- to know that there is something so much better beyond.......

I really do not know whether she wrote it - or whether someone else wrote it.........but I do know that each of us would get a Christmas letter from her each year -- and I always was inspired by her writings..........

So........a special "Thank You-- Miss Meadows" -- for all you did for me as a young child growing up -- and for giving me the comfort you did for all those years..........

Please use it.......and spread the word.

We have too much pain in this world!

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family, Guy. My father went through the same thing. If it's any consolation, it's knowing that he can rest now. The difficult part for him is over.

You don't know me, as I mostly lurk, but I always look forward to your posts.

I lost my father 2 years ago, and burying him was the most draining thing, physically and emotionally, that I have ever done. Even today, not a day passes that I don't think of him, but the hurt is gone. Mostly.

Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.

Ed

I want to thank everyone for their messages and prayers (especially you Scott for that favor the week before.... I'm indebted to you).

I occasionally glanced at a few threads, but really wasn't in the mood to post anything. Been a very tough couple of weeks.

Again thanks.

You are not indebted to me.......I was honored..........I only hope that I was able to make your Father's trip a little easier.........and to let him know it was OK to go.

You have my number if you need to talk...........

Very sorry for your loss. I met your father when we were all at the Camaro unveil, I just happened to sit down next to him at the table in the hotel we were all staying at. We had a very nice conversation and he got picture's of your car's to show me. That was the only time that I talked with your father but I remember just thinking what a nice guy this is. Our thought's and prayer's are with you and your family.
