Likely a good assumption.

Add 125hp to the Mustang GT, and you're probably at 3700 pounds.
Perhaps - if you include an IRS. And it would thus become a heavier pig.

I don't remember. I recall a speculation you made. What is the real info?

People didn't like the styling.

But I think the real reason is that people just like to complain. The car looked fine to me.

I don't care for the styling of the Chrysler 300, but I'm not going to go whine about it on Mopar forums.

If I didn't already have a 2002 Z28, I probably would have bought a GTO. I just couldn't quite justify having two new V8 coupes

Yeah, the only complaint I ever heard was the styling.

I admit every time I saw one all I could think was 'it looks like a 1997-2003 Grand Prix'. And to be totally honest, I prefered the front of the 97-03 Grand Prix over the GTO.

A 2door (yeah I know the pic is a 4 door) Grand Prix was better looking than the GTO imo.

The proportions of the GTO look much better to me. It's a proper RWD car, whereas the Grand Prix is obviously FWD, with all that front overhang.

It's all personal preference....

My complaints were styling & weight.

Shocking, isn't it?

I actually liked the GTO when I test drove it at GM Autoshow in motion. (But then what can you tell at 25mph ) I likened it to a roomier SN95 Mustang.

I agree. I have always liked the GTO (but then again, I was also a big fan of the older GPs too). I do see a fairly strong resemblence, but as someone else said, the GTOs proportions are much better, and it is a HELLUVA lot more fun to drive .

I test drove one about a month ago for the second time in about 2 years and it really is a blast to drive. That LS2 has so much low end torque. I would have bought it right then and there, but i really had to remind myself that I am much better off waiting for the Camaro!

That was my reaction as well. Heck if no Camaro was on the horizon, I'd probably by a new truck.

Exactly, it looked like a freaking pontiac. Which was a very bad thing. Very bad thing. It was a very bad thing....Now days pontiac has decided not to make cars look like ****. If Oldsmobile ever figured that out they would still be around. The way I was ever able to like the GTO was to saturate my mind with videos of modified GTOs. Now, every time I see one on the street I think of the video of turbo/super charged cars that sounds great.
I really had to force my self to not think of the grand am/prix everytime I saw a GTO on the street.
