All the "news" in the monthly auto magazines is at least 3 months old, due to their publication deadlines. Probably why the weeklies are so popular.

Actually from everything I have read, Hot Rod's numbers may not be that far off.

I agree. I don't see why 3,650 lbs for the coupe would be far off. I mean, with all of the emphasis that has been placed on weight, you have to think that they are gunning for the 3,600 lb mark. If they are indeed just guessing and 3,650 lbs is their guess, then I would say that is a fairly feasible guess.

Also in the same article they state that "Both of the Camaro prototypes seen in public thus far are powered by the 6.2L LS2..."

Yeah, shows how much they really know. The LS2 is 6.0L.

Yep and they also say that the convertible's stripes are black.
They could've found the truth in 5 seconds of reading the GM Press Release.

Got my issue last night...

3,750 pounds (estimated)
But how the heck did you guys miss this part?

... GM insiders have blabbed to HOT ROD the range of potential powertrain options for the new Chevy ponycar. There will be two V-6 choices and at least three V-8s, including a 550hp version of the supercharged 6.2L V-8 for a high-content Z28 model. Sources indicate there will be two base V-8s, one stick and one automatic, both of them over 400hp.

Probably an editing mistake on their part. Most people aren't that **** about little things like 6.0l versus 6.2l.

But I still wouldn't put any stock in that weight number. We won't really know until an independent source weighs one on a scale. My WAG is still 3800 for a V8 coupe.

@ Scott.

Once you realize that this is all about trying to scoop the other guys for the purpose of selling magazines, it all becomes real clear.
