Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

based on wheelbase length given in video..(i did not make this one, found it posted on another site.. can't vouch for it's accuracy.. and i also have no idea where they got a straight on side profile shot)

Camaro:
110.5" Wheelbase
186.2" Length

Challenger:
116.0" Wheelbase
197.8" Length

Wow sweet work, where'd you get the side profile shot of the Camaro anyway? I've missed that one. (EDIT - Doh, my reading comprehension is working quite well...)

Are the heights of the cars really proportional? Damn that Challenger is massive...

Re: Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

Your dimensions on the Challenger are a bit off.

Here's the press release on the Challenger:

And here are some bigger, different pics of the Challenger:

I read somewhere that Dodge built the car proportionate to the chassis of the 300C. One of the end prototypes built was one in which they had this huge engine compartment with a relatively small cabin and rest of the body. So to compensate for this massive front end, they adjusted the dimensions of pretty much everything.

Now this muscle car is huge!

I read somewhere that if Dodge built the car proportionate to the chassis of the 300C, while slightly making it smaller. In other words, this muscle car is huge!
i made a typo on the wheelbase.. meant 116.0... the length is right though

as i said in the post above when i posted the image.. i didn't make that picture.. i have no idea where the creator got the side profile pic from..

after viewing the R&T video..there is a shot , directly side on, where it pans from left to right.. i assume one could take a shot of the front, and then the back, from there, and line them up and combine them to form one image

these images i did capture from the video:

Re: Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

The one thing that I do like about this concept is the length. I think that is the perfect length for the Camaro. If the size comparison to the Challenger is right, then the height looks pretty good too. Now all we need is a size comparison to the Mustang.

Re: Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

camaro:
wheelbase: 110.5"
length: 186.2"

vs 05+ mustang:
wheelbase: 107.1"
length: 187.6"

i'll work on an image, side by side, and overlay

Good work FS. I also think this is a perfect length. It has a pretty good wheelbase with (for its class) a small overall length.

Re: Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

On closer inspection of the size comparison pic, it can't be right. Look at the front end of the Camaro as compared to the Challenger. Half of the Camaro is below the Challengers front facia. That can't be right. Cameras can play some tricks with your eyes on profile shots depending on the distance away from the car.

Re: Size Comparison.. Camaro vs Challenger

I am rather curious on the weight of the camaro as the challenger is supposed to be around 4100 lbs from what I have read.

I still highly doubt the Challenger will be 4100. I don't know where that figure came from but that's just waaaay too much it seems for a vehicle of its size.

i didnt make that pic, so i can't vouch for its accuracy..

i decided to do my own version..

the pic of the challenger is the original unedited pic.. i just pasted a scaled camaro over top of it.. and lined up the bottom of the front wheels
