Rumor about red RS at Indy
So.....rumor has it that the red RS at Indy was packing some serious muscle under that hood and behind the "non-ss" front facia. Speculation has it that it was actually equipped with the LS3 and 6sp manual trans.....what say you?

I don't know if anybody can confirm this, but I think that is the same red RS that was at the Woodward dream cruise. I was talking to one of the GM guys there and they told me that it was a V8 under the hood even though it appears to look like the LT (RS).

Well, here is the answer! This link was posted by a member of Camaro5. Confirms that the red RS is indeed packing a V8 under the hood! Also, the interior pics clearly show a manual shifter which means we are probably looking at the LS3!

This is correct, it was mentioned the day the car showed up at Woodward because at that time, they would not lift the hood and Scott just grinned at me when I asked him to. Preproduction cars are always weird in ways like that.

It was a V-8.
When Scott got into the car to drive it away after the 2nd session, I asked him to show me the interior lighting. He said the LED piping did not work in that car but showed off all the other lighting. Then he started it and it sounded AWESOME. I said to my cousin, "and that's the V-6!!" Scott turned to us and said they traded the V-6 for a V-8 in that car. He said something else, but I can't remember what it was.
Later, the car was driving across the courtyard and it was dead silent. Weird.

I've got a video of the red RS driving through the building and across the courtyard. Also got a some close ups of the dash lighting which look pretty cool. I'll see if I can download it into my computer and post it somewhere.
