Purhapse GM will put this drive train into the new Camaro?

Good question. I really think that would have hyped up the car a bit over here and increased sales. Heck, if they would have played around with the nameplate a little and even brought back the Judge edition, who knows... Things may have been quite interesting. I loved the GTO nonetheless, I wish they could have done some more with it though.

EDIT: i just found a nice link that pretty much confirms it.

"it doesn't rewrite the rulebook, it just does a dirty big burnout on it"
Doing the math, that comes out to 49.155 mph (assuming a 6500rpm redline). Still nowhere near 75, but not exactly "30s at the most".

Maybe the redline has been increased and an entirely new first gear has been added? Both of these mods are not unheard of in a supercharged vehicle.
Remember V8's already have a tough enough time launching, now add the instantaneous power of a blower to that equation and all of a sudden that 3-4ratio first gear is useless.

So modified drive/valve train to take the beating of supercharged hp/tq levels would also add to the cost. This is IF GM mades one

As long as they don't artificially increase the price to just for the sake of making it a more "exclusive" car , I don't think SERIOUS buyers will have any problem paying extra for a SC'd car.
And as far as a modified drivetrain to take the abuse, GM already has components in some production cars to take 500hp (not to mention what's in the works for the Corvette SS/Stingray/Bluedevil....or whatever they decide to call it), I wouldn't think it would be too major of an undertaking to get it to work for a 550+(?)hp Camaro.
But like you said, that's IF GM makes one

and the reason we didnt get the s/c'd v8 like vauxhall is that while they sold 45k GTO's in the US from 2004-2006, they only sold like 1500 Monaros in the UK and only a few were actually vxr500's

All I gotta say is WOW! That car is awesome. He was wringing it out and in the rain. Imagine is conditions were perfect? Thanks for posting this. I bet the price is in pounds. He never says US dollars.
