PRICING FOR CANADA IS GREAT!

I don't know why your all crying. The Mustang is $33,999.

The Camaro SS is only 3K more...and far superior product according to everyone thats driven it. We get 6 speed manuals/automatics, IRS ect.

Load it up with tons of options--2SS and sure it gets pricey--a little. Just forget all the "fluff"

Give me a upgraded stereo, maybe stripes--good to go.

Yup, 2SS if you want leather and a V8. 2LT for a leather V6.

Canadian camaro pricing

These prices don't look that bad when you consider the sticker on my new 2001 SS with $2500.00 worth of SLP options was $41,000 and that the 2SS is pretty well fully loaded.

yes, but there was also the z28, theres no middle man option now, its just v6 or v8. i think its still a few k high. mustangs are still a bit overpriced at 33k that and ford will surely give it to you under that, if gm can go a few k under sticker then it could be better. plus you gotta realize the destination charge isnt included which is a ram here.

... and therein lies the crux of the whole pricing issue. MSRP is simply a frame of reference or a starting point. Once supply catches up with the initial demand for the car, the actual transaction prices will demonstrate how the consumer views the car and bea gauge of demand.
Obviously dealers would not expect to get MSRP (or more!) for these cars for very long... and then we'll see where the dust settles.
GM Canada has stepped in before with price allowances on purchases ($10,000 on 'Vettes last year) as well as factory to dealer incentives.
Bottom line is that if the car moves well, none of this will happen, but if sales slow up somewhat down the road, GM has shown they will make moves in order to keep the units moving out the showroom door. The market will definitely dictate the outcome of this.

Best regardSS,

Elie

As it stands now I feel it is about 3k overpriced. But as mentioned, I imagine once the hype dies down it will drop a bit.

Effectively SS replaces what Z28 was (the only way to get V8 in the 4th gen) Its not V6 or V8 its V6 or SS (V8)

If the Z28 comes out the SS will be in the middle.

Once the lease on my truck is done in 2 years I promised myself a car I deserve. With the top SS costing $40,000 plus adding all of the options I want the car is going to cost me at least $50,000. I hate to say it, but I'd rather spend another $13,000 and buy a Mercedes C 63 AMG. The only options on that car is an AMG Performance Package (which really isn't worth it) and a convience package which has NAV, stereo and some other small options. For a car that has 456 hp, 0-60 in 4.5 and a 1/4 mile of 12.5 seconds, it's a hard car to ignore.
