Well after my intial panic... and the release of the invoice pricing. I feel much more comfortable being able to swing it on my time line. I will be ordering a 1ss with the wrs package and should be able to come in under my limit of 32k after ttl (I qualify for GMU) this time next year.

1SS RS m6 for me. I would like the HUD and console gauges, but its not a big deal really. If I want the gauges that bad, Ill find the part number and buy them seperatly. What does that add up to, 32XXX?
Im happy with that Cant wait.

I think Cheryl said the gauges would be a dealer installed accessory on 1SS cars if you wanted them.

All the options are Packaged anymore.

If anyone remembers ordering a 4th gen, they had the packages, and then you could get just about anything as an individual option. So it was possible to have pwr locks/ windows & no rear defoger. You could also order a Z28 OR SS back in 2002 with a manual seat, no rear defoger, crank windows, no fog lights or power locks/ cruse control. The packages were more/ less "Package Discounts"

I am glad to see the sun roof not tied into any package since alot of consumers dont want that.

Speeking of which, I dont notice anyone saying they are ordering a sunroof?

You couldn't order a stripper SS in 02, I tried and GM wouldn't allow it. You could in 01 but the SS in 02 had to have too many extras in order to get the SS. That's why I went with the 1SC Z28. After seeing the weight and the price of this new car I'm seriously considering the Cobalt SS sedan. It's about the stealthiest thing out there right now and $10k cheaper. With the new stage kits from GM it shouldn't be too far behind a Camaro on any track. Heck it might actually be ahead realistically considering it's about 900lb's lighter.

2SS things I want on my Camaro when I buy it:

- Ambient lighting
- Boston acoustics 245watt 9-speaker premium audio
- Auxiliary gauges (center console)
- Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
- Bluetooth and USB connections
- Head-up display (late availability)

Things I don't want:
- Leather heated seats
- Remote start (Automatic transmission only)
- Rear parking assist (late availability)

While most of those I could add myself or from the dealer, I don't think it will be worth it to not just move up to the 2SS and suffer the leather and parking assist. This Camaro won't be modded very much and will be a more sedate cruiser/daily driver so I want it to be nice as hell. What's a few more months of saving?

Do remember though, this is first year and at this point- Pre production. GM and other manufacturers tend to add more options, and availability after the initial few months/ year of production. I wont be suprised if their is a Leather delete package on the 2SS or something equiviliant.
