No love for the 1SS?

No love for the 1SS?
As I was saying in another thread, people on this site clamored on and on about how they wanted a "stripper" V8 Camaro.
So, the 1SS is on the table. Almost $3200 less than the 2SS, and without several weight-adding features such as:
- Leather heated seats
- Ambient lighting
- Boston acoustics 245watt 9-speaker premium audio
- Auxiliary gauges (center console)
- Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
- Bluetooth and USB connections
- Remote start (Automatic transmission only)
- Leather steering wheel with controls
- Rear parking assist (late availability)
- Head-up display (late availability)
Sounds like the closest thing to a "stripper" you could ever reasonably hope for in 2010.
Since the announcement of prices and packages, I have seen very little love for the 1SS. It seems like everyone is either getting one of the V6's or the 2SS.
My question is directed specifically at those of you who wanted a "stripper" V8 Camaro: What are you getting?

I wanted something of a "stripper" car, but not quite. I prefer leather seats to cloth ones, and there's a few options available for the 2SS that I want (cyber gray stripes, auxiliary gauges, HUD). However, I don't want everything that's included on the 2SS (rear park assist, heated seats, Bluetooth, etc.)

I'd be alot more into the "stripped down" version if it were closer to $28k. I don't think GM really wants any real stripper SS's on the road... An SS with steel wheels, for example. They have to build up that image that the Camaro is a nice car.

the problem comes down to GM's option "packages" like always.
Just because one person wants one option, then they'll want all these others too...right?
No, I, like many others it seems, want just a couple of the 2SS features, but not all of them. But of course to get them you have to get the others that you would never use and pay extra for anyhow.
My DREAM camaro is a 2SS with gray stripes and a sunroof, but only because it has the console gauges and leather. I don't want/need the ambient lighting and bluetooth/usb, dimming mirrors, etc. So we are forced to settle for one or the other.
I didn't want a "stripper" Camaro, but was hoping for a little more flexibility with the options.

I priced my "dream" Camaro...a 2SS/RS with a stripe package. Just shy of 36k, which is a few thousand over what I wanted to spend. So it looks like I might have to settle for the 1SS, the "stripper" SS. Thinking I'll still go with the RS. Sucks not to have the console gauges though...Those should have been made available for the 1SS.

Im just fine with a 1SS/RS , I am however quite dissappointed I cannot get bluetooth and the USB unless I spring for 2SS ...unless I read the ordering guide wrong ?????? Looks I can get the boston acoustics on the 1SS , but why must GM always limit the tech stuff to the loaded to the gills models. Big time bummer , I wanted to run my phone thru the car and have the display and charging features of plugging my ipod into a USB rather than using the jack and controlling it thru the ipod itself ...and Im not getting leather and whatever else to do that ...jus not gonna happen .
Minor gripe , not a deal breaker ......just a bummer . $32-33K will b the most Ive ever dropped on a car so I want it perfect damnit
