Louisiana Dealerships? Convertible model?

I have a buddy that is looking to buy a new Camaro. I'm posting for him until he has a chance to sign up. We havent really seen any at the dealerships down here in Louisiana. When will they start to show up? Any idea when/if we will start seeing a convertible V6 model? It was supposed to be first quarter 2010, correct? What is the price expected to be?

Thanks

Convertible of any flavor is programmed to be a 2011 model, not 2010.

Go to the order tracking thread and look at the list there. Several dealerships in LA have Camaros. Mostly around Baton Rouge and NOLA.

What part of louisiana you from. New Orleans born and lived in Lake Charles for quite a while.

Actually, I read somewhere that the vert was being pushed back until 2012. Can't remember where I saw that though.

I was born in New Orleans, raised in St. Bernard, and now living in Metairie since Katrina. The friend that is looking for the car is in Slidell.

I'll check the thread out.

Thanks

Actually not even that. Autoweek TV put out the official word that GM put the convertible and Z28 on hold indefinitely due to the money issues. They aren't canceled so we could still see them at some point but currently nobody knows.

The Autoweek announcement about the hold was more recent than that. Maybe two weeks ago.

I was told today by a dealer at Karl Chevrolet in Des Moines, Iowa that the convertible would be a 2011 model out in the spring of 2012. He also recommended to me to place a $1000 deposit and said there were alread 20 some people on the order list? Not sure if this is true, but is what I was told

Putting down $1000 as a deposit on a convertible now would be silly.... no, make that stupid. They haven't officially been announced for production, so they certainly can't be ordered. Why let a dealership hold on to $1000 of your dollars for the honor of a position in their line for a yet-to-be-produced model?
