So, maybe the same thing will happen with the 5th gen cars. Yes, they are heavy. But as we all know, GM has been very good about making their cars handle great. Keep in mind also that the 4th gen cars were heavier than the 3rd gen cars, and yet the 4th gen cars handle much better!

I am listening to Scott on this one!

True, Thirds do turn better. I don't know if I'd say drive circles though.

3rd's really weren't that heavy, very similar to 1st Gens. It's just that they were compared to tin can 5.0's that weighed nothing which made people think that way. Even though 4th's were heavier, it usually wasn't by that much.

When the third gen cars were new, everybody complained that they were sooooooooo heavy.
Compared to what, a honda?
The early 3rdgen's were even LIGHTER then the later 3rdgen's.
A 2ndgen weighed more so that sure couldn't have been the comparison and that would be the logical one.
In fact EVERY f-body before and after the early 3rdgen's has weighed more.

Same thing happened with the 4th gen cars, but on the racetrack, they WIPED UP THE TRACK with all of the mustangs!
Ford doesn't try or sucks at making HP so what's your point?

Keep in mind also that the 4th gen cars were heavier than the 3rd gen cars, and yet the 4th gen cars handle much better!
Again WTF, the rear suspension is IDENTICAL, the front suspension looks better on paper but doesn't do much better. If you really think it's better you can install an aftermarket coil over strut setup on a 3rdgen and it actually weighs LESS then stock. Imagine that, losing weight and new techonology. Who would have guessed.
I think people compare a 15 year old 3rdgen with worn out bushings to a new 4thgen with fresh stuff. Well no **** the new car with working struts and shocks does better.

Guy who wrote that is an idiot.

well thirdgens do drive circles around 4th gens, if they have the LS1 powerplant or other mods the suspension though is true, in my opinion the best handling Fbody built is the third gen. I do things in my 92 that would kill me in my 01.

Exactly. Has nothing to do with 5th gen and does no good except give people something to argue about.
