All things considered, if I were to get one, it would definitely be a V6 RS.

I still need to get over the interior... i'm really trying to like it. It's hard because I didn't care for it even in the concept.


Exterior looks great, though. I really like the RS "option", and I think it'll be worth every penny to whomever opts for it. HIDs are just AWESOME, and the halo rings are a nice touch.


With all of that said, I really think the V6 RS model is the best bet. V6s will drive the sales, and I think GM did a nice job at catering to this. 26MPG.... One could probably wring 30MPG+ out of it.

Ya know, you make some great points. 300 HP is nothing to look down upon from a V6, and the mileage and weight loss really help it. Plus I was a little surprised at how "upmarket" the RS package makes the V6 car appear.

I'd still have to get over that interior, which I don't see as being possible for me personally right now....

I think both of you need to wait until you can sit in the driver's seat to really decide whether you like the interior. The only good angle on those dash pods (IMO) is from right in front of them.

I definitely will test drive them whenever i'm able.... I just hope the car salesman won't be stingy about allowing the test drives when they first come out.

I think the V6 car is a great package.

I just wish the Brembos and FE3 suspension were an option.

I'm leaning toward the V6 6spd RS as well. I'll probably wait for the HUD though. I anticipate strong aftermarket support for this platform. Maybe a supercharger can be added later if more power is needed. With VVT, there should be some really interesting tuning options for this engine. I'm excited to see what will be done to make this V6 a screamer!

And with 87 octane instead of premium, better fuel economy, and a lower insurance premium, it seems like the best long term option even if you leave it stock.

I would be but I would rather it be seperate from the RS package. I'm not sure I'm getting that but I would love the brembos and FE3 susp.

supercharger might be tough with that compression ratio.

I didn't realize the compression ratio was that high. There is always bottled power as an option!

The V6 is a great buy but I need that V8 rumble. A proper Camaro needs that V8 sound in my opinion. Of course, that is just my opinion. However, with today's gas prices, I wouldn't surprised if the V6 outsells the V8 by a larger margin than in the past. I will probably ending waiting for a second year model and let the quirks get worked out regardless.

I'm looking forward to the V6 5thgen vs LT1 Fbody 1/4 comparisons. Power to weight between the two should be pretty close w/ the 5thgen being geared better. If you're not out to be the fastest kid on the block that will probably be a nice performance point to be at, which is still pretty quick... Won't be anywhere as responsive to mods as the LT1 though I wouldn't think... For me, if I'm buying one I gotta have the SS though.

V6 is a good choice, but for me I know every 2010 Camaro I see on the road most likely to be a V6 I need to stand out with the V8 with the rumbling sound and the awesome mail slot
