How long till decision

How long until GM checks yes or no to go ahead with the Camaro? How much more evaluating do they have to do?

Re: How long till decision

Josh over at C&G said Lutz hinted it could be as soon as 3 months from now.

Re: How long till decision

No offense to "Josh" (I don't think i know him), but he isn't a person to hint at anything. If somone hints at something, they better be working for GM. I am looking for what people have been told by their sources or something from the horses mouth.

Josh is the guy that runs C&G (he posts here as Josh452) and Lutz told him that while he was interviewing him after the unveiling at NAIAS.

Re: How long till decision

I thought the company line was always "GM doesn't comment on future product"

The sooner the better. Seeing as how this thing has gotten huge press, for the most part generally positive, they sure cant say it hasnt been well received....

Until they are allowed to... its at 2 different auto shows right now... there are some questions if they said... "Hey look here... have a nice day", the stock wouldnt be going up by 1.61 today...

besides Lutz plays by his own rules...

Re: How long till decision

I honestly think we might want to ask this question again in about two weeks once the dust settles and we can start actually gauging how this Camaro is accepted be EVERYONE, not just us enthusiast.

This is correct in relation to Mr. Lutz comments on the production possibilities of the new Camaro. It should be noted I was not the one to ask the question, a reporter from Reuters was if I remember right.

It was tough to see who was with which news outlet amidst the elbowing and jockeying for position.

Mr. Lutz referenced the Solstice going from concept to approval in roughly 3 months and hinted the same is likely to happen for the Camaro.

Now thats what I like to hear.
GM isn't going to officially say anything, so the best we can hope for is "he said she said X" Just giving out general info and saying "trust me" doesn't sit well with me.
Thanks for clearing that up, and to Josh, if you following this thread, thanks for the heads up.
