With what he said @ the Summit...... About them bringing the Firehawk back - and the top of the line model will be a SC'd LS3.
Considering they'll be involved with the Camaro and SS, any thought of what their "Big Dog SS" might be called? Those in need of a SC'd 5th gen just might have their prayers answered.
Then again, this may have been discussed @ the banquest last night. I didn't make it like I had planned on - went to the 4wd jamboree and got rained on - after checking out the RS's on saturday morning of course! Swapped hotels and spent last night @ the Embassy Suites downtown.

as a Firehawk owner, that was my first reaction, but after I thought about it a while, I understood why they went this direction.
sad as it is, there will be no Firebird. No Firebird means no reincarnation of a coupe Firehawk. Once you accept that, it make total sense from a business perspective why SLP chose to use "Firehawk" again.
Brand recognition.

As a former owner of 2 Firehawks myself, I have to say that I don't like the use of the name in this instance. Yes. the cars will be bad *** muscle cars but they just don't feel like Firehawks to me.
I'd much rather SLP just get their hands on some Camaros and turn *them* into Firehawks. I realize that Camaros aren't Pontiacs but I'd rather see a Chevy Camaro Firehawk then a Pontiac G8 Firehawk. Maybe that's just me.

i wouldn't go that far. it doesn't really fit on either, but probably makes more sense on a pontiac...

Makes more sense on a coupe. There is absolutely no reason for them to reuse the name other than to lay and pray that people who knew what Firehawks were (and will never ever be again, regardless of what SLP does) buy them. Its a cheap attempt at getting some profit. A Camaro Firehawk makes more sense because at least its the same type of car. There is no reason they cannot create a new name, that is more fitting and deserving. The car died, the name died. It was a Firehawk, not a phoenix.
