Has anyone noticed that there are no pics of the vert with the top up. I wonder if it could be a hardtop convertible?

thats because the vert doesnt have a top frame or top yet.

its just built to hold one as of now, and doesnt actually hold one yet.

The 4th gen cloth top is perfectly adequate for 4 season driving ... and I'm sure the 5th will be the same ... or better.

Ragtop. It's already going to be criticized for its weight; it doesn't need a hardtop to make matters worse.

Rag top is fine. My rag top hasn't given me any problems, and it is driven all year long. The hard top is just going to add even more weight to an already likely hefty car.

I agree also, but my only concern about a rag top is some punk coming with a knife and slashing the top.
Was going to buy a 3rd gen soft top and went to look at and when we came back to the car 30 mins later cause I meet him at an arena the top was slashed. That's a nice 2G+ bill to fix. No thanks I'll only buy hard top.

I just like the looks of a hard-top convertable as opposed to a rag top. Personal preference.

Which was the deal breaker on why I bought a t-top Z28 in 1995 instead of a convertible. In hindsight, I should've bought the convertible with the M6, over the t-top with the A4. Heck that's what we have insurance for right?

I completely agree. Hard top is MUCH better looking as well as not easily slashed open like the rag top.

i like the looks of a hard top better than rag top as well.. but i don't think that's enough to outweigh the costs of more weight and less trunk space
