Pretty cool. I wonder if the black <gass door>? or black bottom and back bumpercover is part of the stripe package? If so that may be an interesting spin on the 1st Gen black tail panel that indicateded a car was a big block if I remember correctly.

I very much doubt it. It looks like a pilot car or similar

Yeah it seems weird, it has the mail slot but also what look like the tiny front brakes. Still looks awesome and good shooting!

Upon closer examination...

The front clip has the SS mail slot, but none of the rest of the SS characteristics like larger lower air dam, bigger lower opening, "hips" above the fog lights, etc. The brake rotors appear large enough, but the calipers look rather "off the shelf GM".

Don't get excited either way, doesn't mean anything. Could be something the plant threw togther as a test of something. However, with this car being where it is, it is the indication of the beginning. I really think it is amazing how far we've come, to those who it matters to.

I should make a blog entry about that...

BTW...you guys who like the stripes, you will be able to get them if you want.

So will all SS's have the different nose that you describe? We've seen so many mules with the V6 nose and the mail slot like this picture. Just seems odd to test something they won't produce.
Even the black "SS" seen at the Ring with the Brembo's had the V6 nose and mail slot. Doesn't seem to be a cooling issue for the larger front air dam.

I"m betting on a GM accessories car for throwing ideas around, or testing fitment in "real world" situations. dont need those bumpers flying off on the highway
