Come To Jesus Meeting
A time when a polite ultimatum is given, generally followed by a less polite ulitimatum, then a threat. Drug and alcohol "interventions" are often refered to as "Come to Jesus Meetings".

You got that right, but a small minority don't let facts or common sense
stop them.

I'm still upset that the Camaro is not coming out at all because of CAFE regulations.

How about an LS6 to keep weight and price down? Try to get 200lbs out of the car and throw in a normally aspirated 505hp bullit for some Z28 fun.

Gotcha. Gotta give them an offer they cannot refuse...

I think you mean LS7. LS7 is rather expensive, more so then the LSA, and I belive more then the LS9 since its engine block is unique.

Hopefully you don't speak from experience.

Yea, you're right, the LS6 was only 405 hp. Thats why those C5 Z06s can be had under $30,000.

I guess, if price is no object. The Z28 would compete against two of those cars. The other two are $70,000+ cars that aren't in a possible Z28's market.

There is nothing wrong with the strategy. The car is going to sell whether a Z28 exists at start of production or not. Wait a couple years when things die down, then peak interest again with the top car. Besides, as Charlie said, a re-focus of Z28 is welcomed.

I think you meant Ls7?? I wouldn't mind seeing that too assuming it came in weighing less than the SS's 3,860lbs (A 500hp Ls7 powered 3,7XXlb z28 sounds pretty nice and fairly doable). Make it the z06 of the camaro lineup. Not that an LSA would disappoint or anything (it's a built/boosted v8 which'd be a few bolt-ons and a good tune away from 700+). The LSA comes at a weight penalty, but there's an up-side to it as well.

To blackflag, how much are you willing to spend on a z28 today since you can't wait 2 years? It most certainly won't come cheap. If you're aren't willing to spend north of 40g's then don't bother waiting. Judging by the GT500, SRT8 Challenger, etc... that seems to be the entry price. And the z28 might even carry a premium over both models depending on how GM specs it out. Either way, be prepared to spend corvette like $$$.

As I've stated many times before on this matter, I agree completely.

I have enormous interest in a "Z06" Camaro and exactly zero interest in a "ZR1" Camaro. Price isn't the issue. I could afford either one.

Heck, I might even be able to find some way to live with that train wreck of an interior if they got rid of enough weight and forgot any thought of a supercharger.

Unlikely? Perhaps, but that's where I stand with the car. Love the styling and power but that's simply not enough this time around.

Count me in among those that would rather have an LS7 than an LSA in the Z28.
