The concept is awsome! But...

The hatch and T-top version photoshopped here is just killer.

What it effectively does is take the 1969 theme coupled with the more modern air superiority fighter styling and tie in the 3rd and 4th gens into the theme.

It also, and VERY IMPORTANTLY, differentiates the Camaro from the Mudstain and Dodge Challenged-ARRR in the retro area.

While the unwashed claim that the current version is too retro (it really isn't), the hatch and T-top version eliminates any issues with that nonsense.

Architecture may make it impossible, but I'm here to beg GM Styling to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at it.

I thought the chop made it MORE retro becuase now the greenhouse looks just like a 3rd gen.

Plus, I'm anti-hatch do to it's negative effects on chassis rigidity and the upright B pillar takes any rakishness out of the design.

I'm still undecided on the t-top thing, but I think this is the best photoshop so far...

Man I sure hope that isn't it. No offense to jaws4life, but that photochop loses alot of the killer roofline that the conept has. targa top, ala the 'Vette, or convertible is the way to go on this body.

I must agree. I'm in love with the normal concept, but this gets rid of that huge expanse of flat roof.

Defintely dont want a hatch on the car. Over time a hatch is gaurnteed to leak water, and squeak incessantly.

I'd prefer a trunk and it looks better IMO without the hatch. T-tops is just not feasible with the car at this point in time with the way its made. Maybe do a dual removable sunroof deal with a separator in the middle but thats as close as you could get to a T-Top on this car.

I would choose Jawz's Photoshop of the concept over the Dodge Challenger, but the concept that GM presented, just doesn't quite do it for me, yet.

I'd give up t-tops to get rid of the hatchback glass, squeaks, and leaks.

I like the concept as is.

I changed the shape of the hatch a bit. The glass is flatter and the panel behind the door is thinner.

EDIT: I think it looks a lot like a 4th gen roof. I dunno, it didn't come out quite as I expected.

I actually see a decent bit of NSX in the back half of that car.

I like that t-top photoshop rendering. It would be a very wise move by GM to keep the t-tops going on the production 5th gen, considering just how many people optioned them into their cars, or bought them with the t-tops equipped already.
