Well, the pricing is supposed to be competitive with the Mustang. GM wants to beat the Mustang's 40+ year as top selling sports car. I like the fact that they'll have 2 types of SS's. The SS1 which they're wanting to be race ready, and SS2 with all the glitz and glamour of having power and showing off. The door panels and the dash are supposed to light up in production. As of yet, there aren't any plans of making a Z28 model, because the SS models will have it all. I wasn't too impressed with the whole gas mileage thing, but then when you look at the Corvette, it's not much different. I'm sure you stick a KN air filter, Cold Air Intake and play a little, you can boost that mpg a little.

I like the Victory Red, and the Imperial Blue reminds me of my Dads 69 SS, which was the first Camaro I ever saw or rode in.

Inferno Orange would be my first choice...but that Red Jewel Tincoat looks real nice too. Have to see these in person to make a decision.

Well I won't comment on your unfortunete situation...

But I have a feeling the inferno orange will be a lot brighter and more hugger orange'ish than it looks on those bland looking color photoshops.

Exterior colors are one of things that you MUST

im a bit diasappointed..not by the car or information, but by the lack of attention fellow boardf members have shown while reading this information..

the peak power numbers seem odd dont they?

the LS3 is 422hp@5000rpm and 408 lb ft@ 4500 but redlines at 6,600
the L99 is 400hp@5000rpm and 395 lb ft@ 4500 but redlines at 6,000

seems to me that these motors are either "flat" after peaks or chevy is lying on how much power there really making..
id say 1,600rpm is alot of rpm to have the power not fall off dramatically or not increase..and id say, going by past LS engines, there tearing **** up on top.

I noticed that as well... I'd say Chevy is most likely lying about the hp numbers.

its misprint. GM made a big deal about the new SAE HP ratings...they aren't gonna start lying now

the LS3 makes its peak HP @ 5900 RPM, I would assume the LS3 in the Camaro is within several hundred RPM of this as well. The corvette LS3 is rated at max torque at 4600 RPM, the Camaro @4500 RPM. Scott, what are the differences between the LS3 in the Camaro and the Corvette? Or are there any ?

ok so all the test cars had a gap or vent on the nose of the car and the pictures I've seen dont have them? do you guys think its because they pulled some design cues from the 1982 - 1991 camaro? in that year if you had a v-6 car there were 3 slots or gaps in the nose below the hood line. This was to make the v-6 cars look different than the v-8 cars which had no gap. I like the no gap look the best, it makes the car look a lot meaner and sports car ish.

I doubt they pulled that slot off of early Third Gen base models, though you never know.

I also doubt all of these power ratings are correct LOL, I think there's a chance they'll be "rated" like the LS1's were.

That is really cool!!!

And I hope the exhaust really sounds like that. It's pretty mean.

And I wished there had been a light blue (like Glacier Blue) but I guess if I had to pick a color I would lean toward the silver, dark gray, or orange.
You have 2 color choices for the dash and I think you can only have one.

Sounds almost just like the 05/06 GTO LSX lame bubblefest. It won't be loud like that, the same way they weren't.

I agree with some that the guys wanting blue got messed up here, that color is just wrong for a car like this. There should be a medium/bright blue, that color shouldn't have even been offered.
