Are you even reading my post??????

I DONT KNOW WHAT THE LS7 REPLACMENT IS

The LS3 will replace the LS2

The LS9 is just another engine....

At the same time the LS9 is the LS3 but with a blower and stronger hardware to handle the extra power.

Seriously I feel like I’ve posted the exact same info 4 times now…..I can’t make it any clearer if you don’t get it…….I’m writing this in plain English…..

I'd much rather have cloth seats than leather myself. Leather is horrible imo. Freezing in the winter and scorching in the summer (unless you have a car with heated/cooled seats, but that is doubtful on the Camaro).

Power (driver side, no need for a power passenger seat imo) Cloth seats would be ideal.

I honestly couldn't care less about HUD though. If it saves me a few $$ I'll gladly leave it out.

That disappoints me actually. I have no desire for the 'Top' model Camaro, nor the pockets deep enough to fund it. But I very much want(ed) a Z28 as I really don't care for the 'SS' moniker.

This could be the first car I own that I remove the badges from it if I have to get an 'SS' badged car...

Also, I don't think forced induction big cubed V8's fit in any roadracing series class's very well, if at all. Its gotta be able to fit in nicely ,like in the Grand Am cup running against the sorts like 350z, M3's and Mustangs..
Interesting...

I think the BIG brakes, coolers, etc., should be a standard part of the Z/28 package.

And I'd also prefer a high compression, NA, smallblock....(in a very nasty state of tune of course ) than a heavier, more complex, SC'd motor.

Tough choice for me between the HFV6 loaded vert RS or a modestly optioned SS. I've had a V8 itch for over three years now.

Re: Build Your 2009 Camaro thread II (Prices Included)

can not believe nobody else has said this, but the z28 needs bigger wheels and tires. a 275 is not big enough for 525hp. it would need a 325mm rear tire at a minimum. the z06 gets 335 for crying out loud. if i am paying 45 grand for a z28. it better have at least 345 rear and a 295 front with brakes comparable to the current zo6.

also, the camaro needs a double din radio opening for the aftermarket radio's out there, and the double din would be large enough for the people that want to spend 3000 on a factory navigation unit. if i am spending 3000 grand on a navigation system, it needs to be a dvd player, have pre- outs for the custom sub woofer system and amps for upgraded speakers, and not be tied into the climate control system. cars that have the climate control and radio system using the same display are not what most of us that customize their car want because it makes installing aftermarket radio's a pain in the ***.

just my 2 cents.

thanks
anthony

my bad. 295 is still tiny for 525hp and at least 490tq. it will blaze those tires like they are coated in wd-40.

Like I said....a lot of this is my speculation and guess work...I really have no idea what size tires will be used

Alright, heres the deal. The LS3 is an LS2 replacement, displacing 6.2L instead of 6.0L. At this point, it looks like it will be putting out around 420hp. The LS9 was once thought to be a LS7 replacement for the Z06, but with news out lately about the 'Blue Devil' Vette with 600+hp, it looks like it is not the LS7, the top dog, replacement. Instead it looks like it will be the top motor for the Camaro at least, and possibly a mid level engine for the Corvette and possibly some other cars. The LS9 is a 6.2L engine, based off the LS3, but will have beefed up internals and will have a blower on top. It looks like it will be putting out around 525hp. Speculation on the reasoning for the change to forced inuction over a high strung NA engine is that it becomes EXTREMELY difficult to meet ever increasing emissions requirements with such a high strung NA motor compared to a not so high strung FI motor. At this point, the spiritual successor to the LS7 is unknown, but the LS9 will be putting out slightly more power than the LS7 currently is and it will be much easier to increase the power dramatically with the LS9. Swapping a pulley is pretty easy. If you have further question, direct them towards Stars, he will be more than happy to answer them

I think 315's in the rear would be plenty. And i would NOT like to see 295's in the front. 275's up front would be plenty for me. Our cars track bad enough with 275's, 295's would be absolute hell.
