Now, if you're talking of a Z06 type, super-Camaro, a real GT-500 competitor, a ZL1 so to speak....then low $40K's would probably be on target.

I would get an SS with:

-Premium Pkg
-Bose
-Sun Roof
-Leather (6-Way Driver's Power Seat)
-Automatic

Oh, BTW, BOSE and Monsoon can't both be together. It can be either Bose or Monsoon (pref. Bose), but not both.

Also, the Z28 won't be out 'till 2010, and the Convertible won't be either.

FYI

I put this together back in 2006 before any official info was released as something fun to play with. I also updated it once since then. But even that update was just a fun guess.

Wink

Didn't know if any of you guys saw these new facts or not but stars you were wrong about the Z28 being the top dawg in the new line of camaro's. SS is the new IT. But here are the specs...

http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/pdf/...ifications.pdf

but for most of you who dont want to visit that site and just want the power its like this.

3.6L V6 DI (in models LS and LT) - 300hp @ 6400 RPM's and 273 lb-ft of torque @ 5200 RPM's

6.2L V8 (LS3, L99; in the SS) - 422hp @ 5000 RPM's and 408 lb-ft @ 4500 RPM's (LS3), 400hp @ 5000 RPM's and 395 lb-ft @4500 RPM's (L99)

As to a Price, i've seen it advertised in a magazine starting at base model V6 $22,000 and ending with the SS at $34,000. But i've also talked to my mom's boyfriend who is a manager at Whitney's Chevrolet and he said he heard that the V6 will come out around $30k and the SS could be around the same price as the Corvette.. Doubt that but who knows... all i know is that I want one! Hope this helps

odds are that a Z28 will come out a year or two later, so, yes, will likely be top dog............

No way in hell will the Camaro rival the Corvette in pricing. The Camaro would be dead before the end of the 1st year run. This car will NOT approach a Corvette in pricing @46,950 MSRP for the base vette. Keep in mind that currently you can get a boatload of money off a Corvette (2008 anyways @ 40,876 employee match pricing)less whatever the dealer will give you off. I don't know about you, but if the RS/SS loaded pricing, or Z28 if/when available, is within a couple grand of a vette, there isn't much choice IMO. Camaro has(had) always been a "biggest bang for your buck" vehicle and I see no reason why it still won't be. My GUESS in keeping with that theory, is 34-35 for a fully loaded, maxed-out RS/SS. I know I'm a buyer there and I think so are a lot of others...
