Brakes?

What kinda brakes are the new camaros gonna get? Think they'll be any chance of something like c6 zo6 brakes? It'd be nice to see some 4 piston calipers at least as an option...

My guess is that if we see a 550HP version like has been rumored, then it is a pretty good bet that it will have at least similar brakes to the C6 Z06. With 550HP they can't just use the standard brake kit.

I was talking to the guy at the local dealership and he said that they're going to build a ZL1 and it's going to have 4-wheel drum brakes .

When I saw the Vert Concept in K.C. it looked to already have 4 piston calipers. "Regular" Corvettes also have 4 piston calipers. Z06's have 4 piston rear and 6 piston fronts.

Six pistons kind of sound like overkill..........but I guess some people might see 500+HP as overkill too.

Base Corvettes use the same 2 piston front/1 piston in the back braking setup

Hmmm..........my bad.

From the pics I saw, they looked like 4 piston. And besides, my '66 has 4 pistons, so I guess I kind of assumed that C6's would have the same. I guess technology has more to do with braking effectiveness than number of pistons.

I stand by my Z06 6 in front and 4 in back statement though as that came directly from the Corvette site.
