Front license plate bracket??

Has anyone seen pics, or heard news concerning the placement of the front license plate bracket?

I'm a little concerned about how it's going to look. I don't think they're going to pull it off without it screwing up the look of the front end.

Maybe they'll do something similar to the corvette?

I'm sure it's going to be a tacked on piece of crap just like it always is.
I hate living in a state with a front license plate!!

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned at the Focus Group meetings that it needed to look more "integrated". Hopefully, they can do it.

I don't know if this is the final production front license plate frame, but here's the one on the red car that drove down to Florida in another post.
Looks just like the one that was on my Caprice.

Looks as craptacular as the one on the 4th gen... hunk of cheap plastic, thought of at the last minute.

Could you tell, did it put holes in the bumper cover?

As far as what I can see in the picture and going on what I know from the Caprice; there are two dimples in the bumper cover and you drill them out to mount the bracket.
It's just my guess but I don't think we'll see a special bumper cover with a place for the plate, it will just be attached on the outside like this one.

I don't know if that is the final placement but after looking at it, I can't think of a better way to do it. Then again, I am no car designer.

I know that people who buy cars with holes in the front bumper but don't need a plate there buy a pair of small Smoothoocks and use them to cleanly cover the holes.

Is there a law that says how high off the ground the license plate needs to be?

Would it fit in the lower grille area? It might fit in better

The law is that is must be on the front most part of the car. So it couldn't legally be in the grill.

Man, that does look craptacular.

Screw it, when I get my Camaro, I'll put the front license plate in the window like I did on my GTI. It's only going to be my weekend/sometimes weekday ride anyway.

Yeah, but you'll have those holes in the bumper cover. I'm tempted to ask the dealer to not put it on, but they might have legal issues with that.
