[Exterior] Removing the Chevy Bowtie from the trunk.

I did a little research and found out that the earlier model Camaro's have two holes in the trunk for the alignment of the Chevy Bowtie.

Later models are just stuck on with 3m tape. That stuff is pretty difficult to remove, but since I'm doing another project and am going to get the trunk area blacked out in Vinyl I wanted to share how I remove it.

It took me about 1 hour using some plastic from an old credit card.

I slowly worked at it, and got it all off. I was able to pull from each side loosen it down the middle then it came off. Now granted there are some slight scratches in the clear from doing it this way, but I can run the porter cable over it. Since I'm planning on having the area covered in black vinyl I'm not going to worry about it.

The hard part was removing the adhesive. That stuff is meant to stay.

you know....fishing line works much better than an old credit card. but i didnt know there were no holes in the trunk in later models.

I had no fishing line around. Dental floss just shredded on me. I also think you'll need credit card plastic or something to get the center bit of adhesive started so you can use the line. Otherwise you are blocked by the posts.
