Chevy Expects Half of All 2012 Camaro ZL1 Models to be Automatic
According to a recent Ward’s Auto report, 70% of Camaro SS models sold were equipped with an automatic transmissions, higher than the 65% rate among base Corvette purchasers. General Motors executives are reportedly already expecting that 50 percent of all 2012 Camaro ZL1 orders will be for automatic transmission models. We find this very surprising based on the Camaro’s history, but it seems to show that the new paddle-shifted Camaros are appealing to all aspects of Camaro enthusiasts.
